Why did I make this proof?
- I am an atheist, I don't believe in God, and people often respond to
this with:"Prove that God does not exist!" So, here it is. The proof is
formally correct, and thoroughly checked. It contains no errors.
I get a lot of different responses to this proof. Usually people have
misunderstood it, and claim it has some error that it do not have. So,
before you go and criticize it, be sure you REALLY understand it,
especially the mathematical notation, as that is the proof itself,
while the text is comments, references and helpful explanations.
The most interesting thing is that their request is based entirely on
misunderstandings.
- It cannot be proven.
When they ask for a proof, they expect the other person to
say that it cannot be proven, and then they claim victory. Well,
it can be proven, and even when it's not proven, that don't give
them victory, because they can't prove their beliefs.
- Proofs.
Exactly what is a proof? Those who ask for the proof never
knows. They very often think they know, and exclaim triumphantly
that this isn't a proof. When told that it satisfies all demands
of a proof, they get angry. The truth is that they don't know
what proofs are or what they are used for. They just use it as
an argumentation trick. Since most people don't know what proofs
really are either, and admit it, the believers score points by pretending
to know it. The object of their game is to make the opponent seem
insecure in their knowledge.
- Beliefs.
Well, they don't know what beliefs are either, but they believe
that beliefs are very good and right, and do so vigorously and
with great gusto, but with no sense or proofs. A belief is
simply the process of making oneself think that something is certain
by simply deciding to feel certain, without all that hard work of
sifting through experiences and observations, analyzing data,
thinking it over, and accepting that it is logically impossible
to be absolutely sure of anything.
- Atheism.
They also believe that Atheism is the belief that God does not
exist. Well, it is not. Atheism is the lack of belief in
God. So, people like me who generally don't believe in anything
at all, and only accept verified knowledge, are atheists. Some
of them believe that we have to prove everything. Well, proofs
are nice, but not everything can be proven or disproven, so one
has to use verification, falsification, and
statistics. Knowledge can never be absolutely certain, while
beliefs can make people feel certain without really beeing so.
- Scientifically proven.
This is really an oxymoron, as science does not prove
things. It is certain that people who use that phrase do not
know what science is, and will not tolerate to be told
so. Anyway, science is the process of finding the most likely
explanations consistent with the data, i.e. observations. It is
thus ultimately a process of judging probabilities.
Postscript:
A lot of people still try to argue with the proof, and me, and they do
the same mistakes again and again, without end. They simply cannot
understand anything here. So, I think I will start to simply show
how completely idiotic things they say to "argue":
- Patrick Creehan:
No, there is nothing evil about the bomb. Nor is there anything evil
about an explosion.
[He was trying to argue that evil does not exist, or something. 2001]
- Dan Kee:
With the interpretation I used of "all" for the statement "God created
all," makes the statement say that God created each individual
part--including the evil. The interpretation I used of "all" for "All
created by God is good," makes the statement indicate that the
creation of the Universe as a whole is good. Unless something good
cannot have a part or more that is evil, these do not contradict.
[He is willfully misinterpreting the word
"all", and thereby also misinterpreting the proof. 2001]
- mosbym@:
Ummmm hello dumb fuck!!!! Uh, I'm not going to even try to read your
stupid mathmatical explaination, cause you fucking disprove it
yourself.
[Just to show that I sometimes get emails from aggressive
idiots.2001-10]
Most people who protest against my proof, claim that "reductio ad
absurdum" is not a valid form of proof. This only shows that they are
ignorant and arrogant. The proof that
Reductio ad Absurdum is correct, is one of the simplest proofs
there are.

A very good
test
of the rational consistency of your views on God.
